Success starts with a C
Yes! You read that right. The foundation of a happy life is our ability to communicate effectively. Communication is not just imparting or exchanging information – it’s like oxygen to any relationship, without it…life doesn’t survive.
Communication is that simple and, that complicated.
Mutual understanding and genuine human connection, despite our differences, can help us to figure out what’s going wrong and what can be done to make things right.
Makes sense, right?
A little change in perspective can make a huge difference to make the world a better place.
But in today’s complex, digitally driven world, makes this even more challenging.
So, how to overcome these barriers?
1)Show your Passion – I am sure you’ve heard about Martin Luther King, Jr and Sir Winston Churchill.
What do these two men have in common?
They brought people together in the face of adversity and accomplished their goals. Thanks to their communication skills.
So, it’s very important to let people know what your goal is. They need to know what you care about. Have a clear mindset and be confident.
2)Always have a learning attitude – Even if you have thorough knowledge of your subject, which is much needed for communicating, you should still be open to learn more every day. And that’s how you keep enhancing your communication skills.
Explore. Learn. Grow.
3)Be Understanding and empathetic – Let people know you care about them, that you’re listening to them. I believe this is the most important aspect in communication and so relevant right now. Don’t just communicate in order to prove yourself because you never know what the other person can teach you.
We are all surrounded by newer technologies – AI, robotics among others. Still in times of stress, people want to connect on a human level.
That human touch is evergreen. Be human.
Therefore, no matter what job you have in life, your success will be determined – 5% by your academic credentials, 15% by your professional experiences and 80% by your communication skills. It is that human connection which is the key to your personal and career success.
Embrace this gift of communication and make an impact!
