1. What according to you is personal branding?
Conveying your personality and connecting with a vast scale of people
2. Do you consider yourself a personal brand? If yes, how do you know it?
I think everyone is a personal brand, how well it is established, is for others to decide 🙂
3. What does one do to go about building a personal brand?
1. Be Real 2. Enhance your reach 3. Provide Value of your personal brand to others
4. What are the attributes of a personal brand? And what do people associate your brand with?
Each personal brand will have different attributes. From the feedback I have received from people, these are the words they use to describe me/ my brand – real, genuine, passionate, action oriented
5. Based on your observations and learning who according to you is a personal brand? What characteristics do you admire about them?
There are many. The first who inspired me and I had the privilege of working with him was Dyaneshwar Bodke, founder, Abhinav Farmers Club. His personal Brand has become the voice of a farmer.
6. What steps did you take to build your brand? How do you know it is working?
1. I set conscious targets for what my reach should be each year. 2. I make real content based on my experiences to help me achieve that reach and connect with people
7. What challenges did you face while building a personal brand? What techniques did you use?
1. Being myself in front of the camera was a challenge when one of our tools was video – overcame that by doing it again and again till I improved. 2. Building a retainer audience is a challenge I face currently, will try to overcome it by focusing on building a followership on a platform
8. During the process of building your own brand, what did you gain in the process? What did you lose?
I gained many skills to connect and communicate with people at various levels. I got more clarity about who I am, who I want to be and who I can be – my horizons widened. I don’t believe I lost anything.
9. How can someone starting from scratch build a personal brand? What is the first step he or she must take?
Decide a medium of expression (writing, video, speeches etc). Arrive at a platform for expression (LinkedIn, Quora, Facebook, on Ground). B real and unique in your content. Provide real value.
10. If you had the opportunity to change something about the way you built your personal brand, what would that be?
My brand I believe is still in the making. So far, I wouldn’t want to change anything, only hope that our efforts continue to move in the direction they currently are.
11. What is your recipe for personal branding success?
Start putting yourself out there. Be shameless. Don’t worry about what other people will think After each 10 content buckets, review the response, feedback, numbers and evaluate keep studying the platform and what works on it my recipe for virality – Simple. Unique. Relatable.
12. Who according to you are personal brands whom others can follow and learn from?
Each domain has their own personal brands. But it is important to find your own voice instead of imitating other brands
13. With COVID19 and other crises what steps can personal brands take?
– Explore the use of digital media prominently – Create content around overcoming these crisis
14. What’s your advice for youngsters (Gen Z and others) who want to consider their personal brands?
Start doing, keep going, evaluate time and again, keep targets for growth
