I have in my personal and professional capacities been associated with corporate social responsibility for close to two decades. In 2003, I founded a road safety charity, Friends for Life to raise awareness about the issues with poor road safety habits and ways to prevent injuries and deaths on the roads. Along the way, I have been a core team member and led CSR for organizations I have worked for – including Tesco, Sapient and i-flex solutions. Have also extended support as a brand partner to Cuddles Foundation, a charity for children with pediatric cancer.
When the opportunity came my way to continue my contributions to society as part of ASSOCHAM’s committee on CSR and Sustainability.
ASSOCHAM Southern region CSR and Sustainability Committee will focus on knowledge, policy advocacy, sector development and capacity building under the able leadership of Shri. Abhishek Ranjan, Chair – ASSOCHAM Southern region CSR and Sustainability Committee & Director and Global Head of Sustainability, CSR and D&I at Brillio – A Bain Capital Company.
The  Region Committee will  meet 3-4 times a year to deliberate and formalize on critical issues being faced by the Corporates and submit recommendations to the Government. The Chair and the State Representatives, represent ASSOCHAM at high-level meetings with ministers, senior Government officials, policymakers, and regulators to discuss sectoral issues, emerging trends and help define an actionable roadmap. ASSOCHAM Secretariat, provides active support and assistance in driving all the Council-related activities along with other council members.
